meeting the needs of others with our gifts, talents, and time
“For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”
Jesus said to love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, mind and strength and your neighbor as yourself. Mark 12:30,31. The apostle Paul equated service with worship, Romans 12:1. Following Jesus is not a spectator sport; it calls for action on our part. Walking on the pathway of service, has so many great benefits. We learn more by doing than any other way. We create and grow lasting relationships working side by side with others. We exhibit Godly virtues to others as we become the visible extension of Christ’s love. We show our love for Jesus by being obedient and take on the mind of Christ by following His example of being servant. In the process of serving we promote unity in the body of Christ which causes it to grow and be healthy. We also become fulfilled as we exercise the spiritual gifting we have been given by the Holy Spirit and that flows out to others as well, for now and even eternity. The pathway of Service is a place that truly reflects our new identity as disciples of Jesus.
