Creative Arts and Discipleship Pastor

Role: The Creative Arts Pastor oversees the Creative Arts ministries at Coastal, which includes the Praise Team, Video Team, Tech Team, Photography, Graphics and our website. Working with some highly dedicated and talented volunteers makes all ministry in this area possible. As Discipleship Pastor, I have been charged with overseeing the processes by which we help our congregation grow into better followers of Jesus.

My Story: I was raised in a Christian home where my religious experience as a child was vibrant but I really didn’t hear and understand the call to be a disciple of Jesus until my freshman year of college. After making that commitment, my life was changed forever and my life is devoted to seeking and glorifying God. I thank Him daily for the blessing of helping His people express their worship regularly and grow closer to Him.

After High School I attended Old Dominion University and then Va. Tech., taking general studies and classes in Art and Music.  I’ve been playing guitar and singing since the 6th grade, participating in numerous bands through the years.  While attending a small church years ago, I found the reason God gave me a love and talent for music and have been following His call as a Worship Leader ever since.  Linda and I learned early in our Christian experience that Jesus has not just called us to a salvation experience but to follow Him as disciples.

I’m married to Linda and father to Jeremiah, Jessica, and Joshua. I love the beach and surfing from Va. Beach to Cape Hatteras and beyond to Ocracoke Island, NC. Fortunately, for me, I love working with programs like Adobe Premier and Photoshop.  I also enjoy cooking, eating and sharing meals with family and friends and learning more about their life experiences.
