Hi, I’m Hank Brooks, Pastor at Coastal Community Church. As pastor, I provide overall spiritual and directional leadership here at Coastal. What an awesome privilege God has given me (since the church’s beginning in October 1999) to watch Him create and build a new, healthy, growing church in Virginia Beach.

From the beginning, we knew God wanted Coastal to be a different sort of church. A safe place for those who aren’t used to going to church. Something casual where you can come as yourself – and worship with contemporary music. A church where you can learn biblically-based messages that can be applied to today’s living. A place with encouragement and fellowship in small groups, and where children and teenagers have fun and grow in their relationships with God.

Since entering the ministry in 1980, I have received two master’s degrees in Christian Education and Theology, and a Doctorate in Church Planting. God has led me to serve in churches as minister of music, youth minister and, of course as pastor.

My greatest desire is to see our church build more and better followers of Christ. I'm dedicating my life to see Jesus change the lives of people, many of whom had previously given up on God or the church.

My partner in this ministry, and in life, is my wife: Donna. It’s hard for even us to believe we’ve been married since 1980! God has blessed us with 2 incredible children (now grown): our daughter Casey, who has graduated college, married Jeremiah, and is currently a freelance photographer in Cincinnati, Ohio. and our son, Josh, who is a studying in college and working\living at the Christian camp, Watermarks.
