Elementary School Associate
Role: The Elementary Associate comes alongside parents and families to empower them to help children come to know Jesus and grow in Him. It includes leading awesome volunteers; resourcing parents, and spending time with your children every Sunday.
My Story: Although I grew up going to church, my relationship with God did not become a priority for me until I was in college at Virginia Tech. At New Life Campus Fellowship, I came to know Jesus, asking Him to save my life and free me from a life focused on being "good" and working to gain acceptance. Once I saw and knew the love and grace of Jesus, I became desperate to be His hands and feet to others who didn't know Him. His grace and goodness afforded me the opportunity to travel to Honduras, Rwanda and South Africa on mission, serving His church and His people. I am so fortunate to now call Coastal my home, I'm thankful for the people here who encourage and challenge me in my faith, and I love being able to influence our children for the Kingdom of God.
I graduated from Virginia Tech in 2004 with a Bachelor's degree in Human Development, and continued my education through Virginia Tech's Master's Program, studying Child Development. While at Virginia Tech, I grew in my faith and volunteered in Student Ministry, Large Group Bible Study, Sunday Services and Missions. After Virginia Tech, I entered the Peace Corps, and worked in rural South African Elementary Schools for two years. With over 12 years of experience, I now serve as the Coastal Kids Elementary Associate as well as the Director of Brilliant Beginnings Learning Center.
I’m married to Daniel Abramson and mother to Emilie and Callie. I enjoy cooking, painting, music, playing with my sweet girls, watching movies, and trying new things!
